Education is a hot topic in the news right now. So many people are trying to figure out how to improve education in the USA. One thing I think needs to be done, is to put some fun back into learning.  Whether you are a school teacher or a parent, I challenge you to grab some new ideas from my blog, add yours in the comment section and try to make learning something kids enjoy instead of dread.

Students learn better when they are engaged and enjoying themselves – and it is not that hard to achieve. But sometimes parents and teachers are tired and overworked and need a bit of help – and I hope this blog will bring some inspiration to you.

A bit about me: I have homeschooled for the past 6 years – even since we arrived in the USA from South Africa. Previously my kids had been in school – one in public school and  two in private – so we have tried (and enjoyed) all  types of education.
Currently I  teach at our local homeschool co-op and coach various academic teams for my homeschool support group as well as teaching 3 of my own at home.

    Dear Meryl,

I just read your ACT vs. SAT ezine article. Thank you! Simple and straightforward as to the differences and I didn’t have to wade through a bunch of unnecessary prose. (We homeschooled for 9 years — keep up the good work) Have a great summer!
